KEM PR-4228

General Information

KEM PR-4228 is a water soluble, neutralising corrosion inhibitor. It condenses in the same temperature/pressure range as water and effec tively controls pH throughout the overhead system.

KEM PR-4228 will not form corrosive fouling salt deposits with chlorides present in the overhead condensate. The neutralisation molecule is preferentially water soluble, and therefore, will not affect downstream catalyst systems or WS1M ratings.

Chemical Description

KEM PR-4228 is a neutralising amine mixrture in water solvent.

Product Application

• KEM PR-4228 is particularly effective in pH control of crude unit overhead systems.

• Injection rate of 6 ppm is usually sufficient for chloride concentrations less than 100 ppm.

• For maximum corrosion protection, KEM PR-4228 may be combined with KEM PR-4260 oil-soluble, or KEM PR-4268 water soluble, film-forming corrosion inhibitors.

• KEM PR-4228 can be diluted with water.

Material Compatibility

KEM PR-4228 contains no organic halides, heavy metals or other substances known to be harmful to process equipment or catalysts. KEM PR-4228 is non-corrosive and flammable.

Health Information

Avoid prolonged and repeated skin contact. In case of contact with skin or eyes, flush the exposed area with water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician. Wear suitable protective clothing and chemical safety goggles. Please refer to Chemical Handling Data Sheet.

Storage/Handling

Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames. Keep containers closed to prevent product contamination and evaporation. Avoid breathing mists or vapors. Observe any warning labels on product container. Other normal precautions for process chemicals apply.
